Herbert was one of the WWII vets who took advantage of the GI Bill for his education.
He began dating Evangeline after meeting in a botany class. They were married while still in school in 1950. Their daughter Becky (Matta) Ball ’75 also attended Pacific and is married to Pat Ball ’75.
Evangeline passed away in 1991 and Herbert followed in 1998.
