The Center for Gender Equity is housed within the Student Engagement and Inclusion Department. Core programming areas include:
- Reproductive Justice: The CGE provides the Forest Grove and Hillsboro campuses period products (tampons, pads, liners, and sustainable period products such as cups and period underwear), safer sex supplies (condoms, dental dams, lubricant), and family planning supplies (emergency contraception-Plan B) to the Pacific community. We also provide educational opportunities around contraception, safer sex, sexual liberation, family planning, the pink tax, and more. .
- Gender Equity: CGE investigates and aims to address topics such as systemic gender inequality, gender based violence, oppression, marginalization, misogyny, misandry, rape culture, and more through our programming. We also encourage people to consider gender as a social construct, gender beyond the binary, and how the gender binary can be oppressive and unnecessarily proscriptive.
- LGBTQIA2S+ Support: CGE works to promote LGBTQIA2S+ students through educational and social programming. We recognize numerous days of LGBTQIA2S+ identity visibility & remembrance throughout the year by holding celebrations, receptions, and ceremonies. CGE is also a key University partner in planning the annual Lavender Graduation celebration for those in the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
- Interpersonal Violence Education & Prevention: CGE helps to support the Confidential Advocacy Network; a group of staff and faculty who can remain confidential and provide the entire 91精选 community with the resources they need to stay safe in the wake of gender-based violence, including sexual assault and domestic violence.
